I have a MKII BTVSS. It has about 1500 rounds through it and has all of a sudden decided to what one would think is light strike. I use only Wolf Match ammo.

I have my ruger mkIII semi taken down currently and cannot seem to remove the barrel from the frame. This is the first time I have field stripped the gun. It's pissing me off. Any suggestions before I take it to a gunsmith?
Well dang. Hopefully someone with specific knowledge of stars can confirm what myself and others are thinking, that the aforementioned crack should not be there and that the gun really is toast.

Is this normal? It is located right above the slide catch/take down lever. Just seemed peculiar as the rails are not lined up on each side of the separation.

I also have a picture of the inside of the slide which seems to bear the proof mark, though I can find no record of the mark or the adjacent XIV XIX. Any info?
