I found a peep sight in the parts bin that came off an old t-bolt and tried it.
It required a taller front post which CZ sent me for free. Good company. Great rifles.
This is funny. I boarded a plane last week and grabbed a copy of this sucker off a news stand to read in flight. Never read it before but needed something to read. I felt the same way about the article. I did find a use for it though.
I was laying in bed last night when a fly started buzzing...
update
I've now got about 6-700 rounds through my 625 and it is doing nicely.
People always remark about the accuracy of the 625 and I'm inclined to agree. This thing shoots!
The only mods I've done to it are, giving a little polish to the side and bottom of the rebound slide and replacing...
The reason I say this is, I went through SIX factory fresh mags for my 27, each one of them was just as you said, Very tough to load that 9th round.
I Installed the extra power springs and tadah, no more nose-up slash nose down jams. But, I digress.
Let me ask you, do the malfunctions happen at the end of the magazine? Say the last or next to last round?
If so,"Limpwristing" is not your problem, timing is. Whats happening is the slide is out running the magazine. The Mag cant lift up the next round fast enough for the slide to catch the...
Hey All, I have a question. I have a current model n frame that has some runout on the extractor rod. The gun functions fine it’s just this excessive runout doesn’t lend itself to a consistant trigger pull. The first two or three cycles the trigger pull is slick as a whistle then the next three...
Hey what the deal with current production pinned front sights? Specifically N-frames. Are they a bear to change out? Looks to me like that itty bitty roll pin is somewhat sprung into place.
I'm looking for a sight for a 625 that I can actually see. Any ideas?
Thanks,
I just called Smith and asked if it was ok to shoot 45 super in a current model 625 (acp) and got a big fat "no" for a reply. I've got a 5 inch on order and was trying to find out some info in anticipation of its arrival.
Just thought you'd like to know.
My father is a BIG rider. 40-100miles a day either on trainer or road. He and his buddies were having problems with several dogs around the area. So I made a holder for pepper spray that uses velcro to hold it on the sissy bar.
It's a two piece deal. The frame straps then a layer of velcro...
The last bunch of followers I ordered from metalform, the follower angle needed to be set on every one of 'em. Some were as much as 7 degrees off.
HTH.
My plinkin load is 8.5 gr of unique behind a 250 keith bullet and its accurate and plesent to shoot. It clocks from 970 to 1030 out of my 6in 629.
Starting load is 9gr btw.
What? ya only gonna use one hand this time?
I swear, I scooted up closer to the table to watch Tuner take mine down and before I could finish the phrase " I wanna watch you detail strip my..." the thing was in forty pieces:eek: :D
Ever seen one of em world champion rubix cube guys work that...
I was kinda wondering that myself.I did read a post where the poster recommended setting the sizer down into a pot of boiling water for a few min.
He said it works like a charm. I havent tried it yet though.
Yeah, I use the Tipton ultimate range box/ cleaning kit and the plastic/polymer Picks are ok but for that dried on stained in crud around say, the breach face of a 1911, I've always needed something with a little scraping power to get that crud out. most of the time I soak the crack for a while...
Currently I've got a 629-5 and I'm lovin it.
I wouldnt really call it more expensive to shoot if ya cast yer own. I just did the math on what my cast reloads cost me and it came out to 3.26 for a box of 50.
"I've got a question, though: My Kel-Tec P-32 has some nooks and crannies in the slide that are too tiny to be reached with a Q-Tip. Does anybody know of some applicator capable of swabbing out such miniscule recesses?"
for thoes really thin channels I take a piece of old tshirt and fold it...
