Count me in with the 6906 crowd. 325.00 s a real good price for a decent 6906. As mentioned earlier, a brand new Cougar can be had for 300.00 at Academy. I've owned both guns and for me the 6906 simply handled and shot better. Never could get used to the trigger on the Cougar--sort of a 2 stage...
I can't say enough good about my Walther PPS. I have two of the original model. Even though it has a compact polymer frame, it also has a very beefy steel chassis that the slide rides on. I can shoot mine all day long at the range and be none the worse for wear. It is more accurate than I am but...
I still own a 5906 but traded my 6906 for a S&W 28 Hwy Patrolman. 3rd gens are hard to beat for their all around appeal. They are among the most reliable pistols I have ever owned. Will eat any garbage ammo and kindly ask for more. 500.00 for both is a phenomenal deal.
"For the price you pay, it isn't worth it.
A relatively new/used gun is typically very close to these prices."
Agree 100% with Wildcat. Many new guns are very affordable right now.
I bought one at the local GM a few weeks back for 209.00. I took it to the range last Sat. and put nearly two boxes of Wolf ammo through it. I could hardly run a full mag(6rounds) without some type of failure to feed. This very well may be more of a magazine problem than the pistol itself. The...
"My P345 is good, but is my least favorite. It hammers my hand pretty hard"
No kidding! I was surprised at the recoil when my buddy let me shoot his. One of the few pistols I didn't mind setting down after emptying several magazines. Of course, I was shooting a S&W 4506 at the time and...
I have a P89 that I use as a truck gun. It is fine for that. The trigger is not the best and I can't shoot it nearly as well as I do many of my other pistols. However, it is rock solid reliable and accurate enough for what I would need it for. It is one of the few pistols that I actually prefer...
Personally, I'd save up a little more and get a used CZ75 or IWI Baby Eagle. That's the beauty of having so many choices, there's something for everyone nowadays.
Awesome story! Very glad they recognized your many years of service with an appropriate token of appreciation. I'll probably get a gift card to Chillis...
It's an interesting question but I highly doubt that many shooters will ever put enough rounds through a given handgun of any caliber to determine a difference. The cost of ammo to "wear out" a gun would far exceed the cost of the gun itself. I remember having read somewhere that the PSI...
Rock solid reliable. Great choice for carry or range time. Most of these I've seen came with a spur less hammer. Not trying to be nosey but why did you give this the nod over the P239? Those are supposed to be really sweet pistols in their own right. Did it come down to capacity(single vs double...
I recently acquired these used BEs(IWI 9mm and an IMI .40) and got a chance to take them to the range for the first time today. They are substantial pistols and you can feel the heft when you hoist them. Recoil on the 9mm was very mild and the .40 was very manageable. Ergonomically these guns...
