Fred had some great points...
Let me re-iterate one very important - don't attempt to clear your own house... you are one person, even those trained to do it don't like to do it alone.
One other thing I have seen (and do personally), is to have my keys to the car with me - if I need to, I...
Loosely related - I think 21 feet is way too close, as I am nursing a "lightsaber wound" from my 6 year old... he attacked me from around the corner (about 18 feet away) and before I could "shoot him with my Nerf gun", I was whacked... I was paying attention - looking at my 12:00 and he came out...

Also have a couple of handguns (1911 and S&W Model 19)...
Yikes - that is some SERIOUS shooting. I think since mine is a carbine, I will not stand a chance, but hey, I will be shooting at least. I may get out this weekend, if I do, will let you know how it goes.
Flyin - can you "clover"? If so, what rifle are you shooting?
I am not sure how accurate my rifle is. I only use iron sights, so I am sure any limitation on its accuracy is my fault, not the rifle's fault.
Perhaps I will put a scope on it one day and see if I can "clover"...
Anyone have...
Yeah - purpose was to shoot a lot, competitions, training classes, etc. I don't really have the budget to buy multiple ARs.
That being said, the cost of ammo, the newborn, and ankle surgery have made my gun a safe queen. I hope to get out and shoot some 100 yd comps soon, then "run and gun"...
I wonder if he will join the "right to carry" movement after this attack:

Or if he will try to ban pipes...

My Doublestar never finds its way into any of these lists... makes me nervous.
It shoots fine for me, though I have never really "put it through its paces"... may shoot a 100 yd match in a couple of weeks... see how it does...
Is the DSC from Doublestar a good rifle? I bought it because...
I have an older Bear Whitetail Compound Bow. Is this thing worth getting "restrung" and prepped for inclusion in a BOB or similar situation? Does the bow and arrow combination have a place in a bug out or similar situation?
I think the interesting item is that I trust similar rounds to bring down a person - not sure why they would not bring down a deer - given the proper shot placement...
Many others have echoed that point... I just don't want to "learn the hard way"... not fair to the deer.

Here in Georgia we publish those businesses which are pro-gun on GPDO... it is a great way for us here in Georgia to patronize those businesses which support 2nd Amendment.
Heck - I have one of the Woolrich Elite vests... used to wear it when my oldest was a small toddler - dang thing kept the 1911 concealed, held a couple of diapers, a pacifer, and a couple of wipes, my phone and wallet... it was amazing... :)
Most of my neighbors thought I was just REALLY into...
I have a couple of guns I got from my grandfathers when they passed away (Remington 742 in .30-06 and a Browning Sweet Sixteen) that have become "safe queens" - may shoot them one day - but would rather see them preserved...
Hmmm - now that I read what I just typed, wonder if granddaddy would...
