Ok, I have a little more knowledge about the situation than the rest of you have, so allow me to interject.
First off, discharging a firearm within city limits is illegal. So if he was carrying a loaded rifle, without it being slung over his shoulder, you're damned right I'm going to call...
The amount of uneducated or illiterate people in this thread is staggering.
The only thing this bill did was clarify the law. People who were labeled mentally defective were already banned from owning guns. This just makes way for all of the states (not just some of them) to add that list...
I've heard horror stories of people allowing a search and ending up on the side of the road with a car completely disassembled, damaged, and the cops saying "We didnt' find anything. See ya later." Seats cut open, door panels ripped off, carpet pulled up, etc.
What part of "Ron Paul does not have a snowball's chance in hades" do you not understand?
Paul is just as un-electable as Kucinich. Until you understand that, we cannot let you participate in the big boy discussions.
Hell, I'm going to put Skeletor up for President. At least he seems to...
That would really, really make my day.
One can dream. I really don't have a big problem with the NFA 34 act, but I have a major issue with the GCA of 86.
Now, it may not be very high-roadish, but why is it all of the left wing loonies that are trying to force stuff through like this are also lesbian/gay?
I don't quite see how you guys think this is going to work out bad for the Anti's.
The Democrats are in control. This sort of tragedy is their bread and butter.
They are going to exploit this to the fullest extent just as Bush and company exploited 9/11 to invade Iraq and push through...
Regions Bank recently purchased Amsouth Bank. Because Regions already had such a large presence in the area, due to banking monopoly laws, they had to sell some of the branches to another bank.
I think they picked the weakest, least likely bank to offer any kind of competition to them.
Don't you understand though? He's a cop. Different set of rules apply.
Not to mention he's the only one professional enough to use that weapon.
BARE MINIMUM, the guy ought to lose his job and the people should sue the ever living **** out of Fairfax County for negligent homicide.
Studies have shown that criminals target easy victims.
A person with an extremely large physical stature is not going to be an easy victim.
Unless the players are being targeted for their wealth (as in they are a known entity and not a random attack), there is probably zero chance of...
1) I don't hear of many cops getting mugged either.
2) While there may not be many pushing 3 bills, I would imagine 90% of them are over 200lbs. Hardly a pushover, for sure.
3) Muscle mass does not qualify as body armor. Last time I checked, people don't use a pistol to deflect bullets...
As long as they aren't dressing with thousands of dollars of jewlery showing, I wouldn't think that a man that is 6'8" and 300lbs would have to worry too much about getting jumped or mugged.
I think that if you can't stalk into shooting range with that .30-30 of that 12 point buck, you're a pretty sorry hunter. Maybe you should take up video games?
