Ruger LCP fell apart while shooting

An LC9's firing pin assembly fell out on a new gun. Sent it back to Ruger and it came back solid. They pump so many of them out, I think they don't always tighten down the loose parts before shipment. Probably 3rd shifters. :cuss:

best revolver for the little wife?

I'd just like to suggest for anyone using .22lr for self defense, from what I've researched the best option is to use high velocity, 40 grain, solid nose ammo to maximize penetration and lethality.

best revolver for the little wife?

The good news is that when she handles a heavier revolver, with a larger grip, and with a cartridge that's not as hot, it will really reduce her perceived recoil after handling hot stuff with the 642.

best revolver for the little wife?

Don't bother with super hot stuff with the LCR. Get the .38 special semi-wadcutters like suggested and with that extra weight and the bigger grip it will shoot like a dream for her.

best revolver for the little wife?

In another thread, looking for the same idea, this was a very good suggestion in my opinion: Buy the Ruger LCR in .357, as it is 4 ounces heavier than the .38 special version. Of course, it can also shoot .38 special, but the extra weight will help mitigate the recoil. Then, buy a larger...

Ruger LCR 357 shooting low, why?

Are you sure the trigger is good? A stupid-heavy trigger, I'm talking 5+ pounds above a typical revolver trigger, can be found on mass-manufactured pistols these days. It may be possible it's happening on revolvers, too. Get the weight checked.

Help me find the right revolver.

Actually, I think Verdun's advice regarding the LCR in .357 is the best option mentioned. It's readily available, priced great, allows for two potential cartridges, and there are a ton of options for larger grips for the LCR these days. Thanks, everyone! This thread is solved...

Help me find the right revolver.

I don't subscribe to liberal, feminist propaganda. My wife respects my understanding of firearms and I respect her inclination to give me some feedback regarding finding the right one for her.

CCW choice narrowed. Sig P290RS vs Ruger SP101 Wiley Clapp

Also, I used to be pinky particular, too, but now I carry my Beretta Nano with the flat bottom and shoot it comfortably with my two middle fingers doing all the gripwork without so much as a thought. I wouldn't go back to a pinky extension ever again.

CCW choice narrowed. Sig P290RS vs Ruger SP101 Wiley Clapp

Kind of an apple and an orange there, 'eh? The Sig is a real carry weapon in every sense of the term. If you can find one with a nice trigger out of the box, jump on it and don't look back. And by nice trigger, I don't mean short. I mean smooth and breaks easy without pulling the muzzle off...

Help me find the right revolver.

Yeah, I was considering the 640. They're pricier than I'd like, though.

Interesting, never heard of one of those. I bet they don't come cheap.

Help me find the right revolver.

The Sp101 is too heavy, she won't carry it. What's involved in dehorning? I could probably do that to it myself, actually. Not a bad idea, though I've never taken a revolver apart.

Help me find the right revolver.

Looking for a concealed carry revolver for my wife. She was alright with the 642 airweight a couple years ago, but she didn't like how jumpy it was with personal protection ammo. I'm looking for something a.38 special snubbie a bit heavier than the S&W airweights. It must be hammerless and...

Tips for listing on Gunbroker? I have questions.

I like to do flat charges for shipping when I sell anything online. That's why I made this thread to find out what a reasonable charge for a rifle would be. thanks, everyone!

Tips for listing on Gunbroker? I have questions.

Solid advice. So you're saying I should be prepared to charge $30 for shipping with USPS and $30 for the FFL fee for a total of $60? Do you mean the FFL fee where the rifle is going?

    Hand ax/hatchet reviews.

It's cheap, soft steel. Dulls quick, sharpens quick. It's small and really only useful for splitting up smaller pieces of kindling wood by the fireside.

Similar to Kahr but higher capacity?

I've owned a couple Kahrs over the years. Some have awesome triggers, others not so much since they increased the weight on them a couple years back. But... If you like the Kahr because it's smaller, you may want to check into a Beretta Nano 9mm. It's a great shooter for smaller hands. This...

*sigh* Rossi, I'm done with you. (brand disappointment)

I remember when I first started looking into getting a handgun I came across a Rossi .38 special revolver. It had adjustable rear sights, a 4 inch barrel, and it just felt perfect in my hand. It wasn't too expensive, but I didn't have the dough for it yet, so I went home and did some research...
