Because someday he might wave a loaded gun around the same way? Or worse yet, wave around an 'unloaded' gun and do something stupid, and maybe deadly, because he didn't think there was a round still in it. 'Unloaded' guns can be the most dangerous of all.
I was in one of my local shops yesterday for my payday browsing and saw a customer waving a pistol around while he was checking it out. It was crowded, so he managed to point it at just about everyone in the shop - cluelessly, not deliberately. As people saw him and started moving out of the...
I don't know if this is true for other brands, but with the .40 M&P you can order a barrel for .357 SIG and shoot either one with a barrel swap. The same magazine will hold either round. I'm not sure if this is an option for anything other than the full-size models though.
Judging by the crowd ahead of me at the ranges, I'd have to say you're right. My favorite range just started running radio ads and now the place is packed. :banghead:
Funny thing about this area; hardly anyone honks their horn in traffic - too risky, I guess. ;)
It's sort of a 'one thing leads to another' kind of thing. The length of pull on the factory stock was too long for me - by about 1.5" - and I couldn't bring it to my shoulder cleanly. I bought an adjustable stock, but the drop of the comb isn't as much as the factory one and I have a hard...
What is the O.D. of your barrel at the end where a sight would be mounted? I want to get a set of ghost ring sights, or any rifle sights for that matter, but the only ones that have a clamp-on front sight are for the 870. Can these be made to fit a Mossy? What's the difference if not?
Which is why a lot of places won't take AmEx cards. My company uses AmEx for their business travel expenses. The travel booking isn't a problem, but I usually have to put about half of everything else on my own card and wait 30 - 45 days to get reimbursed by the company bean counters.
Same here. There are some ranges around my area that won't allow you to shoot steel cases - brass only. Next trip out I'll ask about that; I'm sure a lot of it gets reloaded, and maybe they sell the cases to others?
Some woods are very porous and need a sealant before you stain it, otherwise it will just soak up the stain and it will be too dark and uneven. I'm not sure how well a sealant would work if put over the oil finish on there now. A gloss finish coat will help the look of it regardless.
And...
Well, mystery solved. I received an email today explaining that what they charge is the state tax plus Washington Co. tax, but not the Brenham city tax. Now it adds up and I'm un-confused. :)
I didn't say they weren't good folks; I've been to Brenham several times, either for the Blue Bell Festival (best ice cream on earth) or the lunch stop on the MS-150. Great folks - pretty much everyone in that part of Texas are. My order experience was the same as yours - good service...
That's just it - subject to local rate. 6.75% doesn't match either applicable local rate. My local rate is either 7.25% with Harris County adding 1% to the state rate, of if in the Houston city limits then it's 8.25% with the additional 1% going to the METRO transit people. In Brenham, it's a...
I ordered some ammo from them last week, first time buyer, and I have a question about the TX sales tax I was charged. Overall, I was happy with the deal; good order tracking, good prices and quick shipping. The only thing is that they charged me 6.75% tax instead of the state rate of 6.25%. I...
Actually, the subject has been coming up more and more at work and elsewhere these days, so I have plenty of opportunities to talk about it. It seems to be on the minds of a lot of people, which I guess is part of the reason why the shelves are empty and the ranges are full. I don't hold...
[note - misspellings of "brake" vs. "break" are from the website, as are the missing possessive apostrophe in "shotguns", random capitalization and using "insure" instead of "ensure"]
I found one online, but something has me puzzled about it. The instructions say "When mounting the Muzzle...
Just so I can be better informed, which of the statements above are incorrect? Admittedly, correlation doesn't prove cause, but interesting points nonetheless.
BTW, what does money laundering have to do with government gun policy?
I have a WWII vintage Beretta .380 that still works just fine. Unfortunately, I can't find any ammo for it so my best chance is to throw it at the BG and hope to knock him out.
The Mossy 500 and the S&W .40 M&P keep it company, though. :)
Plus, the ammo is a little easier to find than 9mm or .45. Not much easier, but I've been able to pick up boxes here and there, including JHP, in places that were out of almost everything else.
