my question is this.................what are the laws on restoration of gun ownership after serving time for a felony. I know that once one completes their whole sentence, including parole etc.....their voting rights are restored. My father, who works for the goverment and owns serveral guns...

I would have to say that Texas is a pro gun state, culturally if not legally and in many ways legally, also.
and in Texas, after a certain length of time, even those with felony convictions can regain limited second amendment and also get their voting rights back.
