I must be crazy-Hornady LNL Measure Problem

Yessir, you have the insert installed up-side down. The knurled end goes on the outside. It's something that's a bit odd when you're used to working with the tiny end of the pistol metering assembly, and I installed mine the wrong way (didn't use it though and caught it) even after cleaning...

    Would you use "remanufactured" ammo?

I checked it out (looked at the box and online), and I believe you are 100% correct. For some reason I thought the yellow box UMC was re-manufactured, and green was new. Regardless, new or once-fired brass makes no difference to me for my uses. Right now we've got and are getting less and less...

    Would you use "remanufactured" ammo?

I like to use Ultramax .223 (55gr) and .308 (168gr) whenever I am in need of brass. They both use LC brass, and since it's once-fired the annoying part of taking the crimp out is already done. I've gotten so many loads out of those (I do light .223 loads and light\mid-range .308 loads) and have...

    Bench surface finish question?

I use 1/2" oak hardwood flooring on top of 1/2" plywood, with 1/2 inch MDF under the surface where the press is. Needless to say, it didn't flex when I stood and jumped on it. And I'd say that's pretty impressive considering it's a portable workbench and I'm a decent sized guy. Not only that...

    Caliber conversion

I would suggest paying http://www.6mmbr.com/index.html a visit. They've got loads of information available for you to browse through to get a good idea of what you may want or need. It's got 6.5-284 on it as well as quite a few others.

    LnL AP procedures

I do it either way. Sometimes I put a bullet feeding die into station 4 and run it through the ten bullets it holds then feed by hand until I get bored of that and fill it up again. It keeps me on my toes regardless. I need to get some clear piping to hold more bullets, but it doesn't bother me...

    case trimmer

Try a higher speed setting. With that said, I've been following him for about 3 years now, since he was still in development and before he really had a finished product. I've tried quite a few but haven't bought one yet as I haven't had a need to trim cases in a while. It worked great on my...

    Cheap source for fine Media?

Yet another vote for Zilla Desert Blend. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2876032 It's about $13 for a 10qt bag, works great when you throw in a cap-full of NuFinish, and comes out of the cases extremely easy.

Opinions wanted: Best .223/5.56 brass for affordable AR-15 plinking

Buy Ultramax 55gr rounds - they're $65/250. They're once-fired reloads of LC brass, which is good because the primer pockets are already chamfered. I've been using the same cases for over 2 years now and haven't had any issues; and I shoot a lot.

    Recommend Corded Screwdriver for Reloading

If I did clean primer pockets or debur, I'd probably get one of the Hornady Trio units. Assuming you were buying the flash-hole deburring tool, pocket uniformer, and the screwdriver adapter for the pocket uniformer, you'd be at $60. A little silly when the Hornady unit can be had for $20 more...

    Priming tools

I used the Lee Auto-Prime XR heavily for the past two years reloading. It's worked well, but I always had to use both thumbs at the same time to seat the primer as it got tiring after a few cases, or was difficult. It's worked well, but the plastic clips that hold the clear plastic top on broke...

    Looking for Loadmaster

They come and go on Ebay. About 3 months ago there was at least a dozen on there, but the lowest I saw one go for was about $175 with quite a few extras. Since the re-election the amount that's been on there for any brand has gone down significantly and prices have gone up. Even the Hornadys...

Need advise on a used Dillon.

I've seen them go (recently) on Ebay for $150-250. Naturally, on the lower side they might be missing the powder measure, but I've seen some decent complete ones going for $175-200 without conversion kits. Chances are if there's anyone else there who reloads and knows the Dillon name, they're...

How clean is your barrel when working up rifle loads

My Remington 700's barrel doesn't get cleaned anymore. It changes the POI for the first 5-10 shots, so I just don't bother cleaning it, which is especially helpful when working up a load as it may have a huge group for a load that's actually spot-on. My others, which aren't built for such...

    Harbor Freight ceramic media?

Ceramic media is meant to be used wet, like stainless steel, and would probably do better in a rotary tumbler, not a vibratory tumbler. (I think the Lyman 1200 is vibratory) You'd probably be better off going with SS media or an ultrasonic cleaner if you went that route in my opinion.

    Free Range Brass

I never run into anyone else when I'm shooting, so I don't have to worry much about people stealing my brass.. But wow, I was happy the other day when I found 10 extra 40S&W cases. I also got a couple 45ACP and maybe 30 9mm, but I don't shoot either of those yet. I'm guessing everyone here...

223 Reloading on Hornady -- Dies and Pistol to Caliber Changes?

Why would you need a PTX powder measure stop for a case that doesn't need a PTX?

    ID this 9mm Brass

DI = Defense Industries Ltd., Canadian Industries Ltd, Park Avenue Plant, Montreal, Canada The ones marked just "43" and "45" were also made by Defense Industries, but they were not made in the 1940's, they were most likely made in the 1950's. Why they were dated this way, I have no idea but...

    Anyone use Extreme bullets ?

I forgot to mention, I get mine from FreedomMunitions. They have the same price X-Treme lists on their website for bullets, plus free shipping. I've found TJConevera's has prices that are $10-15 higher on some items, but $2-3 less on some others, and I'm not sure if you still have to pay...

    Anyone use Extreme bullets ?

I use X-treme's 165gr RNFB .40 bullets, and love them. They have a thicker plating than Berry's and are much cheaper. I'm actually about to order some more, I get them for $50/500 shipped.
