Checking the two out what I've found so far is the King has wood grips with a wider trigger.
The trigger guard is supposed to be a little bigger on the King to help while wearing gloves.
It doesn't look like Colt has updated their website for awhile as the .22 version isn't listed.
I'm looking...
I have my Grampa's Savage 99 take down in .303 Savage. Found some .303 savage brass. From what I've read there isn't other brass it can be made from. Slugged the barrel @ .308" and have been using .309 lead bullets so far. It is fun to shoot. I need to get some 159gr SPs for deer hunting this fall.
We were out your way a couple years ago with the Sharps shooting into a dirt hill so so we could see where the bullet landed. It was a ways out there, I could count to 3 before the dust cloud were the bullet hit.
But I agree, shooting at an animal at even half that distance is not hunting or...
The August 2019 issue of Handloader has an article on the .303 Savage. It doesn't give much is the way of history, they want you to look at older issues for that. It does give loads for some of the more modern powders.
I tried Trailboss with Berry's coated 150gr in my 99 TD. I read where RNs...
I believe there was an issue with the forcing cone cracking. Something about the new (at the time 125gr) load and the speed the bullet was moving.
I'm sure someone will come along with more info.
I have a 19 also and love it.
A friend of mine, that new I liked to work on guns, gave me a Marlin lever action that was in a fire and was rusted shut. After some work I did get the rifle disassembled. Then bead blasted the barrel/receiver to get the rust off and sanded the assembly smooth (or pretty much smooth because of...
I heard a story once that wheel guns are fading into the sunset in favor of plastic auto's. After seeing these all I can say is, what the heck is the matter with people?
Sweet Pistols.
I hear you about them being dirty, mine was really bad when it came. But it did clean up great.
It makes you wonder how they would put their faith in such a dirty weapon.
Just picked up 2 Ruger 10-22s.
The first one is one of the M1 carbines Ruger has out, bought it at a gunshow. Also picked up a WWII sling & oiler for it. Then glued a couple carbine mags to the 10 round rotary mags (that was just for looks)
Then 2 days later my brother came over with a...
Even if I don't like it I can see why no reloads.
I was talking to the owner of a range once and he told me this. A customer was sighting in his rifle and couldn't get on the paper. The owner tried to help by moving him to a shorter range. Here they could see the bullets were coming apart...
My pins didn't back out but I did have some play in a DPMS 2 stage trigger. These are just a tad thicker than a standard pin, I believe .001. They are a nice snug fit and took the play out of the trigger. By snug I had to use a screw driver handle to push them in. So far every one I mention...
