    CCW Gun -frustrated need suggestions

My usual SD gun is a very light .44 SPL Charter Arms Pug, 2.5" barrel. Yes, the recoil is savage with full-load CorBons, but all I want is for the other guy to feel it more. A "target" load of 3 gr. Bullseye/200 gr cast isn't something to be shot much, and I've only fired ONE CorBon. I have...

Still have my first can of Bullseye. Bought ~1964, $3.75. Think I got robbed.

shotgun barrel dent removal at home with pictures.

Yes, if taken to an extreme. Not an issue for even severe denting of a barrel, unless it's done several times.

shotgun barrel dent removal at home with pictures.

Ever seen a Wilson, etc. hardness conversion chart, where the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) is the last column on the right? Hardness, especially of steel, correlates very well with UTS, but not so much with yield strength (YS). Doesn't matter, because YS increases faster with work hardening...

shotgun barrel dent removal at home with pictures.

    >"The steel has now been stretched twice (once when it got dinged and once when you straightened it.) This area of the bbl. will never be as strong as it was. This is the reason most 'smiths won't try to remove dents."< Ever heard of "work hardening"? The dented area is now the strongest...

It's a Lee Hand Priming tool

Yes, a very old thread. But I have one of these old hand priming tools, but can only find the shellholder for 30/06, etc. I need one for belted magnum cases. Anyone have one for sale?

    I love muzzle flash!

I imagine a case full of H870 would "get 'er done". Think I'll try it.

Using Lacquer Thinner to Clean Rifle Bores

Interesting. Which ingredient in Ed's Red is supposed to clean the copper? I wonder if the ammonia in the newer Hoppes cleans it. I never leave a barrel dry after using the thinner. Always swab it with ATF. I like the synthetic ATF--more resistant to oxidation.

    ak 47 type explosion?

    >"My guess is that the jarring action of vigorously loading the rifle caused a defective primer to ignite without any actual contact from the firing pin."< A "high" primer could cause that.

Using Lacquer Thinner to Clean Rifle Bores

Ed's Red is interesting. I used to use the old Hoppes No. 9 when it had nitrobenzene in it, but quit when they switched to ammonia. I have all the ingredients on hand, so I'll give it a try. I used to use various gun oils on my model airplane engines when I put them away, and every one...

Using Lacquer Thinner to Clean Rifle Bores

Anyone using plain ol' lacquer thinner (not regular paint thinner) as their normal rifle bore cleaner? I've been using it for years with no known problems. ________________ "You see, wire telegraph is like a very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los...
