My profile pic is my Yugo M59 with checkpoint marks from the Serbian civil war. Had a Kivaari trigger job done, wish they had a better scoping option (short of permanent alterations); would love to find out its true dispersion. Shoots great with a Williams peep sight, still have original 10rd...
My first full-strength rifle was a war-era VZ-24, which began my admiration of all things CZ. I thoroughly regret not getting an FN-49 before armageddonphobia prices set in. Have never hunted with 8mm, but used to love pouring Romanian 150gr surplus ammo through my VZ-24. It's still the...
Big fan of the Rem 760, have three from first year production ('06, 308, 300Sav).
Yes, theyre currently going for more than they're worth, ESPECIALLY the carbines. Looking for one (rifle length) in 270 if y'all see one for non-armageddon prices.
I know it may be specific to the user, but can these be operated with a push to the rear (as with the palm of the hand); or do they need to be grasped and pulled with the fingers but are easier to cycle? Thanks!
One of the great pleasures for a rifleman in my opinion. Nice stock, btw; what is the CMP grade for the rifle and origin of the receiver/stock?
I made an overnight road trip to get mine from CMP Aniston, and was rewarded with a late-era Springfield. Looked new on the inside but was mated to...
So having recently become an AR owner (despite misgivings about direct impingement), I am beginning to feel the seduction of a "custom" rifle. Firstly, I think I'd be happier if I could get a charging handle for it that works from the left side and just needs to be pushed. The idea is that it...
All synthetic stocks 😒. I have occasionally considered selling my CZ 527 .223 that I got for a song and so glad I didn't. Sorry not much help for the OP, just had to voice disappointment versus the wood 550's and mannlichers CZ used to tempt me with.
I took the plunge! Bought my first AR and need all the goodies. Recommendations appreciated! (I am also proximate to an Academy store if they have some better deals). Thanks!
Good thread on a solid firearm. I had one in .40 and now have a .45, my bro has the 9 (carbines in all cases, have never shot their pistols). Fantastic reliability and customer support, all the more impressive given the sticker price. My .40 was far more accurate than I had any right to...
Trying to learn about these things; why would a suppressor create the need for replacement parts? My Saiga is really my only option for a scoped semi-auto hog reaper. The distances I'd shoot probably make the noise of the action negligible.
Have a Saiga 308 v21 I'm looking to turn into a suppressed hog slayer.
Any concerns I should have for it cycling as normal? The gas system does not adjust of course, just wondering what effect suppressor have on AK-platform action/automating. Thanks!
Hello all! It's been ages, but I like saving up for an obscure question.
What extractor spring do I need and where would I find it for an Enfield (7.62x51 Ishapore conversion)?
Also, are these bad boys .308-safe?
Much obliged!
Yes the bayonet is removed so there is no "extended" or "folded". The rear sight is removed, rail attached, pistol scope mounted. I suppose I could reattach the bayonet, though I probably won't.
Or perhaps the lack of?
I have a '52 Hungarian M44 that groups poorly. It may be because of the rail and pistol scope alteration I made, but at 50yds it really should be doing much better than it is. The barrel rifling looks ok but not stunning, and it's pretty old of course at this point so...
Hey y'all,
Apparently the Saiga 308 v.21 is their only slant-cut receiver model, or is it? I have some basic questions about it and need to kick off a thread with some folks in the know. Thanks!
