Small base sizing loaded .308 ammo

They lock up in the chamber, to the point they are impossible to get out. Not a biggy on pulling, I did it to myself, started making proverbial sausage before tasting the beginning product. Will start pulling and loading. No biggy.

I was afraid of that, nah just a kinetic puller. Ahh well, live and learn, appreciate the input.

Small base sizing loaded .308 ammo

Hey, got an AR10 I am just now working up loads for. Its LC brass that appears to have been shot so loosely typical sizing die will not pass a chamber gauge test. Now have a RCBS SB die and it seams to have solved the chambering issue but I have about 50 loaded rounds now that I need to size...

    Lee LM lp primer problem

May have to adjust the index a bit, its what I had to do. Loosen the nut at the bottom of the ram and adjust the head ever so slightly till the index smooths out. The roughness of the index is what is screwing up the primers. Now that mine is adjusted I can switch between callibers no problem. I...

PV note the lack of actual explosions that have come forth.

lee pro 1000 vs. lee loadmaster

Sounds like this exploding press is serious, how many people here have had their Lee progressive detonate? Show of hands please.

lee pro 1000 vs. lee loadmaster

PC, have you had a primer detonation on your machine? What were the conditions when it happened. I am avoiding using any Federals as they are typically to be avoided in progressives. Sad part is I have a whole sleeve and a turret press I don't really reload on anymore.

lee pro 1000 vs. lee loadmaster

Some would contest that the plastic parts are plastic so they break before breaking something more substantial on the press. Its better to replace a $2 slider then a whole new ram and carrier. Just food for thought.

lee pro 1000 vs. lee loadmaster

Wish you lived close by and still had your press, I would love to look at it. I understand your frustration but there are a lot of people out there using these presses with very good results and minimum headache, I know I have. All the parts of mine function as they are supposed to and the...

lee pro 1000 vs. lee loadmaster

Man, you must of had a headache with the level of torment you express, breathe. It wasn't for you, I understand. My press cost me retail and runs like a top (no additional costs), even after 1 on Wednesday. Any progressive is going to exploit a misstep, most auto progressives for sure. I have...

I would say Cowboy Action guns as well. I don't think there is a man alive that doesn't like a good Western.

    Whats brass worth?

.380 ammo has been REALLY hard to come by during the Obama scare. Ammo gets scarce, brass gets even more so. Supply and demand, although .380 is much more available than it was 6 months ago.

lee pro 1000 vs. lee loadmaster

Yeah if look at the pin, and I am not sure it is the same on the Pro 1000 it is pretty rough cast. I use a sand paper to get the heavy casting off the tip of the pin, then take it to the polishing wheel. I just found the casting in the pin was a magnet for dirt and even more so priming compound...

lee pro 1000 vs. lee loadmaster

There has got to be more to it than user error, my Loadmaster reloads 9mm, .38, and 45acp and have not, after roughly 10,000 reloads crushed a single primer part. I found polishing the primer pin all but eliminated the flipping of the primers. Indexing has been trouble free and still on original...

lee pro 1000 vs. lee loadmaster

I run a Loadmaster in 3 calibers and it works very well. It takes a bit of press knowledge to get setup right, but once its setup it cranks ammo out very quickly.

So who foots the bill on the "incidents". You can drive without insurance?
