Yep, I surf THR at work (but I don't post).
I work for a big aerospace company, and while they block a lot of sites, I've yet to find a gun website that they block.
The negative is that they don't allow properly stored guns in cars on campus, so we can't get together at lunch and go...
My first gun was a Sears semi-auto (made by High Standard) that my dad bought for me in '73 to practice with before I went to Boy Scout camp. The camp used single shot Mossberg target rifles, which I fell in love with. When I got home from camp, pop let me sell the Sears gun and use the money...
I've always heard the Windex to use is Windex with VINEGAR, which I've used for several years to pre-clean at the range. I still use hot water and soap at home. The blueing has been unaffected on my two lyman GP rifles, and my two Uberti pistols.
Or you can always clean like the British did...
you can pick up a used Ruger P85 MkII for $200-225. I own two, bought new -- they're solid made and shoot all day. Good ergos too, at least for my hand.
though they were recalled and fixed for free (but what ruger isn't?)
good gun.
nope, you can't fire lap with one round, and how did you measure "random constrictions"? And you need a control group fired bench rest before any mods.
and quit shooting at Lincoln! :neener:
S&K from Brownells too. Well made, works good. But remember to use Loctite on the three screws (I didn't the first time, and wasted 20 rounds before I realize the base was wobbling). And the S&K has weaver mounts, so you have a lot of ring choices. I used Leupold quick detach, and a Leupold...
Gun store clerk was trying to sell a Winchester Marine shotgun to the fella next to me. The clerk told him, "They call it the 'marine', cuz it's what the Marines carry".
Seems like everyone who hates Desert Eagles either doesn’t own one, or doesn’t have the muscle mass to shoot one.
That’s what weight training is for, Ladies.
If you actually owned one you’d be smiling when you shoot it, and scratching your head while you figure out how to...
I’ll believe California cities have a cash shortage when they stop burning money, which is exactly what melting guns is. Have auctions twice-a-year and put the guns into the hands of law abiding citizens. And use the proceeds to pay the bills.
And what’s with SWAT having to “protect” the...
Those guys at American Rifleman never met a gun they didn’t like and they’re too cozy with the manufactures. But you can still glean some useful info from their reviews. And the pictures are pretty.
Gun Tests is much better for reviews. And they’re not afraid to give a gun an “F”, and even...
I pre-clean at the range or when I first get home with “Windex Vinegar”. I read about it in a magazine a few years ago and it seems to work good, though you can’t find the vinegar version in all markets.
Main cleaning is still hot water and soap, then Wonderlube inside and out while the...
