    Cz 100?

I owned one. I really like the design, the size, everything, EXCEPT the trigger. It's horrendous. My favorite analogy is that it's like trying to drag a grand piano over a gravel driveway. There's also no way to improve it. I really wish CZ would import the CZ-110, the DA/SA version of this...

    Rock Island Armory 1911's?

If you do a search here, you'll find a lot of posts on the RIA. There's 2 schools of thought: Those that own them and love them, and those that (generally) have never owned them and hate them, Ther reason it that it is not a forged frame, but a cast one, and the debate over whether they'll last...

    M1 Carbine Sling

Sounds like you're not quite doing it right... Firstly, the front end: The metal hook does not go through the loop. There should be a pin/snap at the front, and the part above the pin (with the hole in it) goes through the loop, and then snaps over the projecting pin. At the back, you...

Handgun pictures: Let's see your recent best work. Ichiro style!

Still trying... This time with my Springfields. Funnily enough, I thought there was enough light without the flash. 3 almost-black pictures, and I had to go to it. ..Joe

    Guns for a Modern Cowboy

Hmm... Good question. I would have to say a Glock 21 for the pistol. Their reliability is unquestionable, and that fits in with the old SAA. Also, their ability to operate in the harshest conditions. This is actually an interesting reply for me, because I only own 1 Glock - the 17 - and it's...

    Great Garand, redux

By 1944 the armories had switched to Tung Oil for the stocks. Linseed oil, they found out, smoked after getting hot, and dried out the wood. I'd just use some pure tung: make sure there's no polymers or polyurethane in it. Avoid those brands that call it Tung Oil Finish, not Tun Oil. ..Joe

    10mm question

Seraph wrote: Yes, but not as much as I used to. I work for the state and can't carry on state property, which means taking off and putting on multiple times a day. It isn't easy with the Bren because I carry it in the obligatory Miami Classic. ..Joe

    Custom Leather

I've met the guys from Andrews, and seen much of their work. They do fantastic stuff. Avoiding offending Art's Grammaw, ask to see their one-off "Flaming A***ole" holster that they made for a friend. It's both amazing in its build, and funny as all getout. ..Joe

YEah, it's one of those polyester T-Shirts that wick the sweat off you. I like walking out in stuff that gets their attention! :) Here's one, but I'm not happy with it. Stainless and the flash don't go well together. I tried it more than anything as an experiment: ..Joe PS: And...

Thanks again for the comments. I do appreciate them! I "stole" the idea of a red background from you. Mine is a tennis shirt, and was the only red I had. I'm going to try something else now, a little more muted, and see how that comes out... ..Joe

Chris: That picture is a study itself in gun photography. The use of light and shadow within the backdrop, the angle, everything is very nice. Great shot. ..Joe
