the ar is superior to the garand both in penetration and at long range. how many get garand thumb with an ar? its 8 round clips lose when compared to 30 round mags; never mind that the ar accepts up to 100 round mags.
with the 1 in 7 twist and 77-90 grain bullets, it is good to 1000 yards...
very accurate. some say this is what the mob shooter used to kill kenedy from the sewer grate below the grassy knoll. just before he died he confessed and told authorities where to find the shell casing in the sewer. they found it there. his version made more sense than the govt's. after his...
i followed it's development for a while. it seemed to have a lot of malfunction issues. i don't know if they worked it out or not. find actual users before you buy. now since i am no longer enamoured i wonder if it was a solution for a nonexistant problem.
have you slugged the bore of your barrel? picking a random size does not work. also to harden your bullets, add some magnum shot. that has enough antimony to allow water quench haredening,
300 weatherby. it can kill anything on the planet. it is accurate well past 1000yards. you can load loads equivalant to 32 acp with trail boss powder and cast bullets, or to elephant stopping loads with the slow burning powders. the mark 5 action is the best and safest action made.
my experience is that after you send a few molly bullets down range the groups really tighten up. i know many poo-poo moly bullets saying they do nothing for accuracy, cleaning and rust barrels. but i have found just the opposite. they are all i run now i have found them to be extraordinally...
most ar 15 's do not have the gas piston system like the m1a or garand. therefore most gas gun cautions about powder burn rate do not apply. there is no op rod to bend. so most any published 223 or 5.56 load will do.
i sometimes run a reduced load that cycles my ar using 8 grains of unique...
keep the mec 600 jr. if you have a shotgun in the same gauge. you can really customize your rounds. i am down to shooting 5/8 oz in the 12 gauge. i probably loaded some 50,000 rounds on my mec 600 jr. before i switched to my pw shot shell reloader. i still use the mec for experimental loads...
there is nothing on this planet that 8-9 grains of unique and a 250-300 grain hard cast bullet wont kill. and, this is in the standard pressure range. load accordingly and be safe.
remember this cartrige was designed to take the horse out from under the rider. so if it was designed to...
components are more available every day. get yourself on a back order list. if you run the 550 find someone who uses it to walk you through it. it is not difficult once you know it. but you have to learn it to be safe.
i recommend loading down a 12 gauge to 3/4 oz load over buying a 28 gauge. a mec press will cost you $150 new and used ones for less than 1/2 that. shells or components are much cheaper and if you want you can shoot full power factory 12 gauge shells. also the guns and components are cheaper...
