    My Sniper Rifle is DONE!

The Tikkas are reported to be good and accurate rifles. That being said putting a bipod and scope on a rifle does not a rifle builder make. Also, in these days of yellow journalism and the hatred of firearms by most of the media I prefer to call them "precision rifles". Your "sniper rifle"...

Rem 700 LTR or Savage 10FP

I bought a 20" .308 10FP about 3 years ago and kept it mostly stock. It was a decent enough shooter averaging about 3/4" at 100yds with the factory ammo that it liked. About 2 years ago I traded it on a 700 5R and haven't looked back. I now also own a 700 .223 SPS Tactical. If you can find...

    stock for savage .17hmr

www.sharpshootersupply.com They make two pretty good laminates for the 93. Boyds does/did make a thumbhole for the Savages, if they don't anymore (?) then there are sure to be some used ones around.

308 or 30-06 for target shooting?

Equal rifles and if you handload...30-06. Since the bullet is going a little faster you have a little less wind drift and a little less drop. That being said my hunting rifle is a 30-06 and my target rig a 308.

What "sniper" website do you guys go to?

Snipershide.com Just don't ask any questions that could be answered if you would have used the search function. There are enough active/former snipers on that site to gather the info that you need. I would personally stay away from that Maj Plaster stuff (books), mostly it is just...

Savage Mark II vs Model 93... Difference?

Stocks will interchange. Only difference between the two models is the caliber.

    Anyone Have a .17HMR?

Highly accurate and fun round for shooting squirrels. Only downside is the price of ammo per box.

sniper rifle vs long distance rifle

True "sniper" rifles are pretty damn bombproof. I'm personally pretty tired of hearing the term myself as the vast majority of those rifles are marketed as such...to non-snipers. Plus it gives the anti-gunners more fuel for their fires. "Precision" rifle is such a much better term.

    Accuracy goals

Did a little match shooting in my day, you'd be amazed by what an experienced/practiced shooter can do offhand. Granted, you won't take a rifle that is a 5MOA shooter and shoot less than that offhand, but with practice you could probably get that rifle to shoot about on par offhand.

    The new XM3 Sniper Rifle

Sorry to keep adding crap, I swear I'm not trying to bump up my post count. Here is another good read. http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=809387&Searchpage=4&Main=74594&Words=chandler&Search=true#Post809387 I'll leave this subject at that.

    The new XM3 Sniper Rifle

Yeah you can blame DARPA on that one. It is lighter than the M40A3, that is one plus. They are also in the back yard of Camp LeJeune, NC and Norm Chandler II is a former Marine officer and author. Easier to get some attention to your product. There are at least a half dozen other...

    The new XM3 Sniper Rifle

The Chandler rifles (Iron Brigade Armory) have been pretty suspect. When I was in country talking to a few of the guys who were able to take the XM3 out, the were very adamant about not taking the XM3 out and much preferred the M40A3. Iron Brigade Armory also sends all rifles out to get...

What TWO calibers would you choose if you could only have two?

.223 and .30-06 for centerfire rigs.

.243 as a "do it all" caliber?

Throw an 85gr Barnes TSX in it and all it takes from there is being able to place your shot.

    Remington Arms....

I don't think so, but you might want to call them and ask.

Rifles you want to see made

-Remington factory varmint barrels with an MTU straight taper contour. -The 700 with a fluted barrel in above stated contour in .223/.22-250/.243/.260/7mm-08 with a 1:8 twist. -More caliber options in the Sendero SFII line, and a 1:8 twist on the 7mm calibers. And that is just big green.

Remington 700 .223 leaving bad brass scratch

Send it back to Remington. Filing stuff yourself usually has a tendency to void their warranty.
