hi Jim, I have a Somchem manual at home, so yes they do produce loadind data for calibers. I might have made a typing error during the post and that is why my "data" appears to be wrong way around. As I said in my original post I have not yet reloaded a single round. I am very keen to start...

I want to reload for a 30-06. a friend reloaded a set of 190gr Hornady's with 46gr of S341. I shot them over the weekend. But felt that the points were slightly to heavy. I shot a 6cm grouping over a 100m with them.

I prefer 180gr Barnes X or 180gr Nosler partitions in .30_06 when hunting smaller game i would drop down to a 150gr buller in the same make of bullet.

    big game rifle

Hi All I see that most of the great advice I have received is favouring the .375 H&H magnum. Is there a reason that no one really likes the .458 winchester magnum. Also what is the difference between a .458 winchester magnum and a .458 lott?

    Silly question...

I own two rifles, a ruger .30_06 falling block and a 1937 krupp side by side double barrel shotgun(original stock), both with wood stock. There is nothing that compares to a great walnut or rose wood stock. It gives a rifle/shotgun character and tells a story.

Hi Everyone, Thank you all for the advice. Grumulkin, that is very beautifull trophy southern hartmans Zebra. I am however still faced with a question. The H&H .375 magnum shoots a flatter trajectory but only allows for a 300 grain bullet. Where the .458 winchester magnum allows up to a 400...
