I just have my doubts as to how much information they really could produce, considering the way it is collected.

Exactly what kind of information could they produce on each of us if they "needed" to? Can they tell me every firearm i have ever purchased...back to a shotgun when I turned 18? Heck, I can't even remember all the guns i have bought and sold. What kind of records really exist?
