    Recommend a .380acp

I have owned several .380s and then bought a Glock 42. I am amazed. It is absolutely the easiest shooting handgun I have ever owned. It is extremely accurate and works every time. I have owned probably 100 handguns, collect pre lock Smiths, and never liked the look of Glocks. I like to carry in...

    Just bought a Walther TPH..

Maybe Over the years I have owned 3 Walther TP 22LR. All were bought new or as new in original boxes. None worked or could be made to work. I loved the look of this pistol-still do-but also bought a new PPKS( German 380) from dealer and it was not reliable enough to carry. I had a friend with a...

NAA Mini .22LR, will it save my life?

At some point since I have been an adult (1968) I remember there was a robbery of a barber shop by 2 individuals here in Birmingham, Alabama where the customer in the barber chair, an older gentleman, pulled his High Standard 2 shot 22 mag derringer, and shot both armed perps in the head...

.22 mag revolver, a poll (not for a woman.)

Only one I have is a S&W 650, three inch round butt heavy barrel J frame. This explains my "other" vote. The recoil is virtually non-existent.:)

    How's the Pico?

I bought a Pico, and took it to the range. The good news is I fired 100 rounds of Blazer 95 gr and 50 rounds of 90 gr Gold Dot HP loaded by Georgia Arms. There were zero malfunctions. This is a very little gun, but easier to hit the target for me than my Ruger LCP. The trigger is bad, comparable...

    Colt Dective Special 1971

Does anyone here know when Colt changed the D frame Colts to the newer style grips and the ejector shroud? The first gun I ever bought was a week or two before Christmas, 1971. It was a Colt D.S. for my mother. I bought it new at a high volume retail outlet, and it was the older style. I saw on...

    What self-defense ammo for a .380?

When Ruger came out with LCP they had a video where they pulled random LCPs off manufacturing line and fired several mags of 380 FMJ out of each gun. Every round in every gun went boom, no failures. They were using Blazer, aluminum cased. I bought a Ruger and carry aluminum cased Blazer FMJ. I...

The New Charter-Arms Bulldog 44 spl

I bought a new Charter Arms 44 in 1973. I shot about 15 rounds with those old wood grips and retired the gun to a bedroom drawer, as it was extremely punishing to my hand. A couple of years later I found a Pacmeier compac grip for it and the difference was amazing. The story I later heard was...

    Over 60 yrs old carry?

Also old enough to play... I keep a little Ruger LCP or a Kahr Mk9 Elite 03 in my pocket. In my cars I also carry a S&W 3913 hard chromed/modified by Karl Sokol, a 1973 armoloyed Charter Arms 44 Bulldog, and a pre-lock S&W 649 .357,depending on which vehicle I'm in. All of my other S&Ws are...

    9MM Summer Carry

My stainless Kahr Mk9 Elite 03 is so much better than a Glock 26 .There is no comparison .The Kahr will fit in a front pocket holster and the trigger is most excellent. The trigger reminds me of a K frame Smith with a good double action trigger job. It was comsiderably more expensive than a...

    MK9 problems

I use Pro-Gold lubricant on the rails of my Kahr.I read somewhere that Kahrs like to be wet so I dab a little of this grease on with a q-tip.Also don't try to hand cycle the action.Just let the slide stop lever do the work when you insert a mag.Good luck !

    Help Me Decide!

I can shoot my Mk9 a lot better than I can shoot my 2 inch model 60.It is awkward for me to pocket carry a 3 inch model 60. For me pocket carry is the only viable option. The recoil of the stainless steel Mk9 is tamer than the 60s.I love and collect S&W revolvers, but age and physical infirmities...
