    Marlin 1894 accuracy woes

I have had three 1894s in .44 Mag. Two were my dad's one was from 1971 another from 1994 and the third was from 1978. All HATE all 180gr. loads, but I have tried 240gr hard cast that were made for the 44-40 and the all of them shot very well with that bullet and H110. I now use a hard cast...

Recoil Spring for ORIGINAL Browning Challenger

I have three 1960's vintage Browning Challengers and a Medalist. The other day I was teaching a young lady the finer points of shooting (NRA Class) and the recoil spring got stuck in the slide and I had to pull the guide out of the slide to get the spring out. I suspect that after 50 years I...

    kimber 10mm question

I have a Kimber Stainless Target II in 10mm and a Glock 20, I like the Kimber better and it is accurate. I've used both factory and hand loaded ammo and had no problems with cases even with max loads.

    random 10/22 questions

10/22s and Marlin 60 I have two 10/22s and a Marlin 60. Love them all. On both 10/22s a trigger job was a must. Another point is that the M-1 carbine like barrel band can effect accuracy. I replaced the stock with a Butler Creek stock (black plastic) With the stock barrel and no other work...

    Biggest handgun disappointment.

Worst Gun(s) and feedback 1 - I have a Raven .25, a Jennings .22 and a Rohm RG 38 ALL JUNK. I keep them to show NRA students that you get what you pay for. 2 - I have a Kimber in 10mm Love it, not a problem. (Stainless Target II) 3 - Not much on Glocks, but lots of friends have them and say...

    S&w d.a.45

When they issued the contracts to buy the 1917 revolvers to both S&W and Colt, both companies were making their respective revolvers in 45LC. The S&W I owned, which was repatriated from Brazil, had chambers which allowed 45ACP to headspace on the mouth so that in an emergency you could shoot...

    380 out of a 9mm Ruger revolver

You might have Bowen or some other gunsmith make up a cylinder for 380ACP, but that would cost you more then another firearm. 9mm brass is all over the place, I'm still collecting 380 brass for my SIG232.

    .243 winchester

Love my Ruger 77MkII Varmint in .243. The first ......243 I had was an Interarms Mk X Mauser and it liked the heavy bullets. The Ruger will NOT shoot 85 to 100gr bullets accurately, but with the 75gr Hornaday's it's a tack driver! With the heavy barrel there is no recoil and if I can cover...

    Garand questions

The issue with ammo was that you did not want fast burning powder as it tends to bend the op rod. Any military surplus 30-06 ammo should be good in the M-1. The target load has been a 168gr bullet with 46.5gr of IMR-4895. Thats what I've used for 30 years and I've had no problems in either of...

    The S&W Model 39-2

Just inherited my Dad's Mod. 39. The ejector failed and he sent the gun back to Smith and for $59 they updated the gun to the -2 configuration, but did not mark it as such. Shots very well. Parts can be a problem. I had to have a gunsmith make parts for the rear sight. Rick in Alexandria, VA

    .22LR upper options

.22 Upper for AR-15s Thanks all. Oddly enough, I have a Henry H001 for the Grandkid. I will start him on the Remington 510 with a peep sight and then on to the Henry, but I know given his talk of things military (games), he will want to try the AR, so a .22 Upper would be a good transition to...

    .22LR upper options

I now have three ARs and my 11 year old grandson is starting to shoot. Any recommendations on a .22 LR upper for either the AR carbine or full size AR? Would like it to look and feel as close to the .223 upper as possible, but I wan to avoid the conversions and go with a complete upper.

    yes another AR question

Lots of choices I have three ARs. Two are Fulton Armory (Predator 24" heavy barrel and Phanton Carbine). I also have an Olympic Arms built up about 20 years ago from parts. I don't know anything about Oly Arms finished rifles but my Oly AR kit was accurate and had a good trigger and over the...

opinions wanted: Henry .22 lever guns

I have an H001 and love it. I also have a bunch of other .22 including a Marlin 39A. The Marlin is a more accurate rifle, but the Henry is smooth, trouble free and a lot of fun. I bought it used in as new condition. I sent Henry a e-mail asking them to sell me a new stock. I got a call from...

    Fulton Armory ~ Any good?

I was doing research on an AR carbine, and ran across this forum after a long time away (last in was 2009). I do LIKE Fulton Armory. 1 - I had an Oly Arms AR-15 built for me by a friend for Service Rifle. It shot well, but needed a free float tube. Fulton Armory added their tube and the...
