10/22 new vs the old

The new 10/22 are a mess. The trigger housing, trigger guard, Trigger and barrel band are all plastic (regardless of what they call it) and the trigger weights vary greatly from gun to gun. The metal parts are all painted now and there has been lots of problems with the paint chipping. One some of the barrels Especially the bull barrels there are deep machining marks. As far as Ruger saying the polymer is more impact resistant I wonder how many folks run over their rifles.

I built one of the pre new parts 10/22 and it was a whole lot better gun.

Many claim and ruger claims that the polymer parts are stronger than steel. My question remains is it the same type of polymer glock uses on its pistols. If so I do not see a problem other than old way of thinking that steel is stronger than polymer. BTW all my rugers are steel.

Actually its polymer. Nice 10/22 I love the engraving.

Actually its polymer.
Which is?...a type of plastic. Bakelite is an example of a polymer, and it isn't exactly well known for durability. Just because it says "polymer" it doesn't mean it is better...composites OTOH generally indicate a superior material (but this isn't always the case either).
