I picked up a new 1010 to try out to compare to my old Chargemaster RCBS Digital scale I have had for about 10 years. I also bought a set of Lyman check weights.

So I set up the 1010, leveled it out carefully and used the tweezers to measure the check weights.

Since I cannot format up a nice table, let me just say digital first, 1010 weight second.

0.5 0.5 (both correct)
1.0 1.0 (both correct)
2.0 2.0 (both correct)
5.0 5.0 (both correct)
10.0 10.05 (1010 read a hair high)
20.0 20.0 (both correct)
50.0 50.0 (both correct)
100.0 100.0 (both correct).

Conclusions:
1) Digital was quicker to read but not by a great amount. The 1010 is quite nice, it feels like a nice scale. There is a satisfaction of ownership and operation that I miss from the digital.
2) They both gave nominally the same weight, I would guess the 1010 is more correct on the 10 grn sample.
3) The 1010 offers more precision to know if you are a few hundreds out, while the digital rounds that out.
4) My confidence in my digital is restored.
5) I will probably play with the 1010 some more, but I see that it will just be used to occasionally check the digital. I can see that if I want to be really precise it is the one to use.
