H&K used to make a 10mm MP5. It could be fitted with a suppressor. Now, like all suppressed weapons, a 10mm MP5 would benefit from subsonic ammunition.
In order to be subsonic, your bullet can't leave the barrel at more than 1100 feet per second, abouts, at sea level.
Now, when you have a speed limite set for your bullet, the only way to get more power is to get more bullet weight. So far, .45ACP is the best round for suppressed use; a 230 grain bullet at 950-1000fps is pretty potent.
But what could 10mm do? It's high pressure enough to push a fairly heavy bullet to that speed.
So here's my question, just to quell my curiosity. What's the heaviest bullet a "full-house" 10mm load could push to 1000 fps or so? The heaviest bullets I've seen for 10mm are 200 grains, but you could probably make one heavier than that if you really wanted.
Anybody got any ideas?
