I am looking for some 12 ga slugs. i don't want long range stuff i have a centrefire collection for that. I intend to use it for destruction of animals from road accidents etc.
I wondered about buying a mould and making some slugs and putting them in some factory loaded trap cartridge hulls (having first removed the shot).

I have a couple molds for 12 ga slugs.
I have made lots of slugs, but never got any to shoot right.
I have been trying to make low powder charge, but high peak pressure, compressed powder slug loads for low noise.

I have a few cases of factory slug ammo that is loud, powerful, and accurate.

Lyman offers molds and data for slugs. I can`t say anymore about them, I`ve never cast nor loaded slugs.

Is their a way that you can buy something like a muzeloader bullet and a wad or sabit to fit a 12 or 20 Ga shell? I have asked about this issue in a past post. But I don't want lead casting around the house (Some Kids), and something easier to work with.

I have good luck with the Lee slugs. Only shoot to 25 yards and use AA no2 for powder. Accurate at that range and low recoil for lots of practice, To get accuracy you will need to do everything exactly same on each slug. Column height and crimp are the secrets.
