My 10.5" AR upper in 300 Blackout likes light bullets that aren't pushed too fast. Specifically, it will produce 1 to 1.5 MOA groups with Accura 120 grain CPRN and 125 grain Sierra ProHunter SP bullets over 16.5-17.0 grains of IMR 4227 at about 1600 fps.

I use this load for short-range (100 yards and less) practice with AR-pattern rifles against steel targets.

The Accura bullets are only $300 for 2,500, but they're out of stock. And the ProHunters are considerably more expensive.

I've decided to cast up some of the 120 grain LRN bullets that I use for .30 carbine, powder coat them, and try this bullet as a substitute for the Accuras and ProHunters.

Do any of you have any experience with 120-ish grain lead bullets in 300 blackout? What powders have you used? Do you prefer regular lube or powder-coat on these bullets?
