I’m thinking of buying some .45 165gr JHP bullets from Lock Stock and Barrel. The bullets were made by Hornady for Triton. I used some of there 185gr bullets but there out of them. Has anyone used 165gr bullets in the .45 ACP? I can’t find any data for bullets that light. I could use 185gr data with a max load as a starting point.

Can you post a link to those bullets? I couldn't find them on their site.

I would start with the 185gr data, but not at the max. I would start with the minimum 185gr data and work up to whatever velocity you're looking for using a chronograph.

Reinventing the wheel ?? Col Askins' book published in 1941 talks about a 170 gr zinc bullet for the 45acp.

I ordered some of thier blem bullets in the past.
I have 2000 .224 60 gr. PP on order right now.
Lock Stock and barrel is my favorite supplier for the reason, they do everything just right. That is worth extra to me, but those bulets are at a big discount, so I would go for it.
