I am looking to buy a holster for my 1860 Army. I was thinking that I would just keep it simple. Is anyone willing to share some photos of their rigs for ideas?

I got a snap-strap Triple K holster from Cabela's for (I think) about $26. I am very happy with it. It looks like the one on the right in dickydalton's picture.

I have only heard good thigs about the triple K holster, high quality and low price. That might be where I end up. I havent made up my mind yet. BSA1's holster is super nice, but I'm probably going to stay below the custom zone of prices.

I have Triple K and Hunter brand holsters, bought via MidwayUSA and Cabelas, and both brands are good. Triple K's products have a darker finish than the Hunters. Their belts are good too, though limited in size for us "Bigger then the average bear" guys.
Triple K also makes good spare cylinder pouches. All items individually are under thirty FRNs.
I find the Hunter holster is generally a better fit, as the Triple K holsters are very tight. But leaving the gun inside it for awhile will help it form to fit.

Another source for relatively inexpensive holsters for cap&ball revolvers is Dixie Gun Works (www.dixiegunworks.com) in Union City, TN.

And if you visit their web site be sure to order a print catalog. Last I knew it still only costs $5.00, and has over 700 pages of products and information. It is the only thing I know of that's priced the same as it was shortly after World War Two. :what:

Even if you don't buy anything (which is doubtful) the knowledge you find is priceless.

I don't remember for sure where I got the holster and belt but I think it was from either Navy Arms or Dixie Gun Works a number of years ago. The buckle I picked up from a local gun shop and was supposedly made by Bianchi.
