1897 Winchester. Missing pin. Help.

Hi All,

I have an 1897 Winchester. Well I believe its an 1897 Winchester. It is missing the pin behind the hammer. Where can I get a replacement and what is the correct way of sticking it in?

Thar is the hammer pin. Check www.gunpartscorp.com their stock # is 251690, cost is a couple of bucks.

How do I tell if it is a solid state or take down?

It's a takedown according to the picture you posted.

See the pin in the front of the magazine tube used to unlock it and turn & pull it out so the gun will come apart in the middle?
That makes it a takedown model.
