Just dropping a note: If you have not yet recieved your American Rifleman June Issue yet...

It is simply a treat. This issue covers of course the 1911 Centennial Celebration.

If you are new to the 1911 Platform it is very informative from history of the 1911 to some special treatments and great information on the 1911 platform.

Just a great issue! Hope someone else enjoys it as much as I am!

If you are not NRA member you can get it digitally for free and of course magazine stand as well.

http://www.americanrifleman.org/ Just click digital in upper right hand corner. PS This is not plug for NRA just an appreciation for a good magazine and a great issue!

This issue renewed my interest in the 1911 platform. Just as I was talking myself out of needing one, just as I had decided that the platform wasn't right for me, this issue falls in to my lap.

Now, I'm hunting through ammo prices and various models. I'm trying to convience myself that it would be a better choice (for my needs) than a new 9mm pocket pistol.

There is just something about the 1911 that captures the imagination like no other handgun.

Any opinions on the ATI FX45 for an officer sized carry gun?

Yeah! I had just bought a Taurus PT1911 a couple months ago.

In The Past: ( If I Only knew then what I know Now):banghead:
Colt M1911
Colt Series 70 Gold Cup Natl match
Colt Series 80 Gold Cup Nat match (X2)
Colt Delta Elite 10
Llamma
Springfield

Future Interest:
Kimber Pro CD2
Kimber Eclipse
Ruger SR1911
Next Colt Will Probably be A TALO Commander
Wilson Combat

Because of this issue... I love the new Smith & Wesson SW1911 E-Series
Those look really nice!

The Taurus has refueled the 1911 flames! (And at a centennial celebration) It is a very nice firearm for the money. (I had one small hiccup on first outing but it was rectified fast with satisfaction) It is still thowing lead without hesitation or malfunction.
