well, kinda

Shooting our monthly 50yd silhouette match this morning with my S&W 629 when I got a squib.

Since it was the iron sight class, I quickly loaded the CCO and dropped the last three targets.
(don't ask me to do that again)

Glad I had it handy as a backup.

Ended up finishing 2nd in both irons and optics

Very nice. I've never had a squib (knock on wood). Is there any telltale sign of one, other than the lack of a new hole in the target, and a lack of dust kicking up on the berm?

thnx

In a revolver as heavy as the 629 it's like a light strike. Feels like the primer doesn't ignite, but it does.

Just in case, I keep a small brass hammer and an short aluminum rod in my range bag.

They only occur when I interfere with the process of the Dillon 550B.
