1911 Front Sight Problems

Chuck, we have put the word out to all of the neighbors to ask around. I also drove up and down the street to see if it had been left on someone's porch who had not seen it. No luck yet though. Are you going to call FEDEX this AM and ask that they have the driver go back to the house that she delivered it to? Hopefully something will turn up today. If they can't find it then lets push HARD on them to make good on the insurance. It was their mistake and they should make it good if they can't find the package. I am impressed with the way you are dealing with this. You are an honorable man.

Gary. If we have to deal with the worst case end to this :ie: the slide is gone forever, I have a Hardchromed 1911 slide with a proto-type Caspian 4 way adjustable rear sight and a Wilson Dovetailed Niter Lite up front. It would be my pleasure to donate it to you if you would be happy with this as opposed to Mr. Rogers having to replace it at his cost. The port was lowered and it has a rollover notch at the back of the port. Also the rear of the slide is serrated 40 LPI and may not match up perfect on your Norinco, but would be very close. I am hoping that you have the barrel at home and that we can install it in this slide with no problem. This is a slide I did for a custom comp gun 18 years ago and has has many thousands of rounds through it, but it's like new where it counts. It came back to me at no cost and Caspian sent me the sight free to test out. I traded for the Wilson Front sight so I am in it very cheap. I will find a picture of it mounted on my LW GI Proto-type 5" carrty gun so you will know what it looks like. You are covered if you want to be. Captain Eagle never misses a chance to be a Hero (if I can be one cheap).

Dave, thanks for your offer. If Fedex can't find the Norinco slide then this slide would work for me if it is okay with Chuck. I don't want him to be out anymore than necessary. I do have the barrel. They are sending their driver to try to retreive the package sometime today. We should know something one way or another by morning. What brand of slide is it anyway?

OK. It is a Mexican No-Name Slide. I can't remember what was on the sides but I do know that I Draw Fiiled it off. I suspect that it could be a aftermarket part of somekind. It will work fine, Gary. Rest Easy.
