Hello everybody! My name is Anthony and i'm from California. I bought my first 1911 when i turned 21. After my first day at the range i stripped it to clean and found that the screw was over-tightened. Long story short i destroyed that screw along with the stock grips that came with it. When i was shopping around for new grips i was surprised to see how much exotic wood grips cost so i set out to make my own. Nine years years later and fresh from a recent layoff i decided to strike it out on my own and started MagnaGripFactory.

I'm only making grips for government model 1911s in standard and slim at the moment but will definitely be adding more soon. If you guys have the time please stop by and check it out. Everything is made to order and at very reasonable prices.
 
They look beautiful and the prices are very reasonable but unfortunately, I'm not in the market for new grips (stocks) for my 1911s. I didn't see any on your site but you might want to consider some thin versions as well. That is what I would want.
 
Thanks for the compliment, I do offer slim grips however if you had trouble finding it their might be a flaw in my website navigation, or maybe just needs better labeling. The order form is right below the regular sized 1911. The website will be constantly updated with new grips and options. thanks for you your input
 
They look very nice, and you offer many different choices, unlike other sites where you are limited to whatever they have in stock at the moment. I will likely order a set next week.
 
Needs officer size grips

If you're offering slim grips, it makes sense to offer slim bushings/screws - people like one-stop shopping

Head over to 1911forums to see what oddball guns people are looking for grips, the complaints there are your market research. For example, there's one - and only one - maker of aftermarket RIA TCM grips, there's a hole in the market there waiting to be filled, and it probably isn't the only one.

When you go to the "New" page, there is a "Wood" selection, but it does not go anywhere.

Can you label the ones displayed elsewhere on the site? For instance, I cannot seem to find a match to the eleven grip pairs shown at the top of the "Order Form" page.

And on the "Order" page, there are two mounted sets displayed, but what are they?

Good luck with your business venture--lots of 1911s out there, and many of their owners will enjoy dressing up their 1911s.

Nice wood choices. Some that are intriguing for my stainless 1911. If I had money right now I'd order a pair :(

Only suggestion I have is put a few more hi-res pics of grips on the site, preferably on a gun. Oh, and sell screws, as mentioned above.

Unable to open Grips, Options and Wood with my DROID, either mobile or regular. I'm looking for something nice to put on a nickel 1911 in 38 Super. :)
 
Very cool, will possibly order something by the end of the month.

Are there any particular woods that will handle daily/concealed carry better(resist cracking/breaking)? I'm concerned about this as I'm going to be ordering thin grips. The Burmese Rosewood and Bloodwood look particularly interesting to me.

One suggestion would be to get pictures of ACTUAL grips made in the various types of woods... especially all the Dymondwood offerings... the sample pictures for those in particular make it hard to imagine what a finished grip would even look like. The Winewood/Walnut and Cherry/Black look like something I might like, but seeing a real grip would make it easier to visualize.
 
This had to come right AFTER I went through a whole dilemma of what to buy! The site is good but as previously mentioned, actual pics of grips (or just representative pics) would go a long way. I have a Taurus PT1911 that has some odd cutouts in the grips, can that be addressed? Officers grips aren't a bad idea, I can certainly send you a set so you can make the proper dimensions if you are interested.

Good Morning / Afternoon. I'll be adding High Res Pictures in a gallery tab soon. I'll will definitely be making grips for officer models, and hopefully Llamas and Taurus in the near future. They will also be discounted for a limited time period. I am also adding an option to purchase screws and bushings, should be up by the end of the day. Thanks for all your input. Keep it coming, I'd to make the site as user friendly and informative as possible.

What kind of turn-around time can be expected if ordered in the next week or so?

Looks like some well made grips and I am interested in a set or two. I would also buy officers size if they were offered.
 
The turn-around is based primarily on whether we have your wood choice in stock. If we do not have it in stock then we would have to order it from our suppliers. Earliest would probably be 2 weeks but no more than 4 weeks.

Glad to see a custom grip maker with such varied offerings! I'm interested in Black and White Ebony and/or Macassar Ebony grips - Are those two woods something you have/keep in stock, or would those choices entail additional wait time?
