I had one of my new Wilson Combat magazines fail on me Wednesday. After extracting round 9 the gun failed to feed round 10. Oh, and round 9 or something else tagged me in the forehead. I pulled the slide back and looked at the magazine and saw the magazine spring sticking up past the last round. I dropped the magazine and pulled out the last round and noticed the front 1/3 of the follower was gone. I had only loaded (and fired) the magazine ~3 times when the follower broke. I know Wilson has a good reputation . . . but if you get a chance to look at the way these followers are constructed. The plastic on the follower is thin and brittle. My original Springfield Armory magazines have steel followers and would likely never snap in half. The rest of the Wilson Combat magazine is constructed very well. The finish on the stainless is about perfect.
I purchased (4) of these Wilson Combat 38 Super 10-Round magazines. I was very pleased with the quality when I unpacked them and began to use them. Perfect fit, strong springs, they drop out perfectly when empty.
So what should I replace the broken follower with? I don't trust the thin plastic Wilson Combat part. Will another part fit?

Send it back to Wilson. I'll bet that with their excellent customer service, they will fix it or give you a new magazine. THey have been very good to me in the past.

Give them a call...I'll bet they will make you happy.
