I have a S/A .45 acp that has been beefed-up for .45 super and beyond. Recently I had my wife video tape the muzzle flash. After reading another related post, I got to studying the frames of my video and found the following:
The 230 Grn. factory load was already cycling the slide when the muzzle flash was visible, the barrel not showing in the ejection port. The 200 Grn. +P load was still locked up with the barrel showing completely in the ejection port. Same with my 185 Grn. super load. The two fast loads did not show any movement of the slide. I am using a 24 lb. recoil spring, and EGW . This seems to go against the schematic of a 1911 that was shown in the other post. What is happening?
