Hey guys. Couple of questions. I was wondering if Springfield stopped producing their parkerized "high"-capacity 1911. I am pretty sure I read that, but I can't seem to find the web page mentioning it and I can't find that model listed on their site.

If they did discontinue it - Does anyone know why? Did the price of them go up due to this? Have you seen any around for sale?

I can't really seem to find any for sale after doing a google search on them and looking on gunsamerica.

TIA for the replies!!!

Yep, they discontinued 'em - don't know jsut how long of where the particular notice was/is. It's been awhile.

You can usually find one available on Gunbroker or Auction Arms... At least I have the past few months while 1911 shopping!

Ok. I found one on gunsamerica here and also the cached page off of Springfield's site here .

Springfield's site listed it for $746.00!! Obviously they don't sell for that price based on the gunsamerica site.

Anyone know of any other's that are listed or how much others have recently paid for them?

I paid $500 even for one NIB. Dealer had no takers, so he sold it $500 OTD, taxes, fees and all.

It is ok. Came with one Mec Gar 13rd mag. Feels pretty neat. Has all the features of a Loaded like the Upswept tail, trigger holes, flared ejection port, etc. Black barrel. NO FRONT SERRATIONS!!! Yeah!!!!!! Just a plain old Milspec top. That was th reason I bought it. If it had FCS, I would have walked off and left it behind without a second glance.

Come to think of it, 13rd + 1 without a reload is pretty cool for a 1911 full size. No firing pin thing under the slide.
