I am having some problems fitting a barrel to my Norinco 1911A1. I took some measurements tonight of the slide, from the breach face to the upper locking lugs and want to know how they would compare to the Mil Spec for these dimensions.
Breach to 1st lug 1.330
Breach to 2nd lug 1.645
Breach to third lug 1.982
I suspect the second lug is too close to the breach
and the third lug is too far away from the breach
The only lug on the barrel taking any load is the second lug, the original Norinco barrel had the second lug worn back about .011"
I tried a known good barrel this weekend. I first marked the upper lugs and fired it about 50 rds then checked, marks were unchanged on the first and third lugs. Lug #2 was still doing all the work.
The barrel measurements are as follows
Breach to 1st lug 1.310
Breach to 2nd lug 1.634
Breach to 3rd lug 1.958
