I was curious what powder and bullets are folks using. I've been using BLC(2) for 32 gr VMAX and BK. Benchmark for 39gr BK. Thanks in advance.

I will have to look when I get to the house, several years ago at a estate auction I picked up about 900 rounds of 204 really really cheep did not even have one yet lol. The ammo was about half factory Hornaday 32g vmax and about half reloads. I ended up getting a Shaw AR upper, the reloads consistently produce 3/8 5 shot groups at 100 yards. I do not remember exact loads and will look when get a chance but I do remember that it is a 205M primer 748 Winchester powder and 32g Vmax. I have not had to load any ammo for the gun yet but off this the only thing I might change would be to back off the powder a little.

I'm interested in this thread also. I just picked up a savage hunter in 204. It hasn't even been shot yet.
The only brass I have for it right now is from the two boxes on factory I picked up when I got the rifle.

I'm anxious to try it out, if it ever warms up

For prairie dogs, I've been loading 39 grain Sierra Blitzkings and 40 grain Hornady V-max bullets with CFE223 powder and Remington 7-1/2 primers.

My rifles also shoot the 32 grain bullets well, I use mostly 32 grain V-max.

The heavier bullets do a bit better, flatter trajectory and more retained velocity, out to 500-600 yards than the lighter bullets.

My rifles are a Savage 12FCV and an AR-15 with a 26" heavy barrel.

This is the load data from those reloads i have been shooting, 29.55g 748WW 32g Vmax Hornaday case 205M primer COL 2.248 4100FPS MV. A little hot for a AR but still shot very well

40 grain V Max and H322 do very well out of my CZ 527. I seem to struggle with lighter bullets although I haven’t given up on 26 gn Barnes.
