All I can say is Whoa!

I finally got the opportunity to take the 22-250 out for some field shooting. The targets were jackrabbits. I hit a total of 3 at a range of between 60 and 100 yds this eve. All I can say is the 50gr Hornady V-max pretty much split the bunnies in two.

Plenty more out there to shoot but the area I was shooting was getting busy so I decided to quit shooting the rifle and used a shottie for the rest.

I am shooting the 50gr 22-250 rounds at around 3900fps with Varget powder and its one accurate round. I am working on 55gr rounds now for coyotes and can hardly wait to see the end result.

Total take for tonight was 15 jacks and several doves. Man I love my job.

Sweet. It must be nice to be able to use a rifle, I am limited to a shotgun at all times by the people in charge. :(

The 55gr loads for the 22-250 should work like a dream, it's what I use when I am not at work.

My 55 grain Load.

WARNING THIS LOAD IS OVER THE RECOMENDED MAXIMUM LOAD. USE AT YOU'RE OWN RISK.

26" barrel, Savage 12.

38 grains IMR 4320
55 grain V-Max Moly. (Testing other bullet types as well.)

22-250 + Utah Jackrabbits = easy pickings already tenderized for the coyotes and crows. A high speed running Jack is a real marksmanship test for most. Seeing lots of Jacks already this spring...Loks like great hunting to come.

33.6 gr of Varget
55 gr Hornady V-Max
Win WLR primer's

this is the most accurate load in my 22-250, I use these for anything from ground squirrels to coyote... And boy do they all blow up...
