I just bought a new Remington Classic in .221 Remington Fireball. I have the new Sierra and Hogdgon's manuals, but I would like some infor on using Lil'Gun in the Fireball. Does anyone use that powder?

I don't load the calibre myself, but the Lee manual lists one load for L'il Gun:

35 gn Jacketed, Start 14.0 gns/3354 FPS, Max 16.0 gns/3535 FPS. Min OAL 1.745.

www.hodgdon.com and follow the links - they have the data in the rifle section.

Lil'Gun is also a great powder for the Hornet.

I've thought about getting one of those 700 Classic Fireballs - do let us know how it shoots!

Thanks. I have Dies and some brass on the way. I had No luck with Lil'Gun in my Hornet, but I load it in my .218 BEE. A tack driver. So I shall give it a try with various bullets. I'll keep y'all informed on the progress.;)

Finally(!!@) got my brass and dies.(Actually only three days from Cabelas'.)
I had some 55 gr. HPBT's from Sierra that I used to break it in. Tried some Sierra 40 gr. HP's and 40 gr. Blitzkings, using H-Lil'Gun. Just came in from shooting it at my range, and got a 7/8" group at 100 yds., inching up to the Max load. I really didn't have any luck using these Sierra's in either my Hornet nor Bee, so I shall try some Hornady's. The gun Does look promising, though. Guess I'll keep it.

I have had very good luck with the 40gr. Nosler Ballistic Silvertips in my Hornet, I bet they would be good in the Fireball, as well.
