If I have put a .22 conversion kit in my AR, could I use a .223 suppressor and fire the .22LR through it? Will it still suppress the .22LR as if an actual .22LR suppressor was being used? Thanks.

yes and maybe better. I don't know if it would cycle right though. I imagine it would but I could be totally wrong. Try it out and let us know how it does.

One of the things to consider is that 22LR is a dirty round to shoot. It will foul the 223 suppressor more than 223 does. This may not be an issue if your can will break down for cleaning but if it is a sealed can I would get a dedicated 22LR suppressor.

sub sonic 22

If you want to reduce noise try using the subsonic 22lr ammo. It probably will not cycle action but will not give supersonic crack from bullet. and they are much quieter than a standard 22 round even from a standard rifle.
