.22LR prices in England?

As the title of the thread might imply, I'm curious as to what is the average price of a box of standard .22LR over there in merry olde England?

Any of our English shooters help me out on this one?

I imagine it's higher than Americans are used to, but I'd like
to hear a groundlevel first hand report.

i noticed that here in texas the price of a single box of winchesters went form 99 cents to 2.19 for a box of 50 jsut recently wonder if that has anything to do with wal mart not selling guns?

Cheapest stuff is about $3.00 a box up to $6.80 for stuff like Tenex.

If that's in US dollars, that's really not too bad.

I had imagined that perhaps .22LR ammo was
very expensive. It probably varies by region, as
it does in the states, I imagine.

Anyone else?
