Any good bullet will probably shoot well. You just have to see what your gun likes. Guns are particular sometimes, othertimes they shoot almost any decent bullet well. :)

As far as terminal performance, I like Remington Core-Lokt and Nosler Partition bullets in my .308.

Wow! I mirror Walkalongs suggestions,

As far as bullet weights and powders: Of the 9 or ten 06's I have worked up loads for, most did well with 165's, a coulple liked 180's and one like 200 Nosler Partitions. The weapons that liked the 165's, usually did very well with 150's also.

Either IMR or H 4350 yielded the highest velocity/accuracy in the 150 thru 180, but don't overlook IMR 4895 and IMR4064 for accuracy.

I have never tried RL22 in the 06, however, if I were trying to work up loads today, I would certainly try it in the heavier weight bullets 165 and up.

One additional thing I would also do tday, which I have not done extensively in the past is use magnum primers to work up the loads.

Wow!! And I don't mirror Walkalong's suggestion...Well only half of it. Make that 1/4 of it.:D

The only difference is My Browning .30-06 likes Sierra's 165 grain BTHP and 59 grains of H4831SC...The choice of using Remington Core-lokts is a sound suggestion. They are pretty much the standard that others have acheived or at least come closs to acheiving. Core-lokts are hard to beat...
