I'm seriously considering buying a 30 cal can to shoot 300 AAC in my backyard. One of the reasons I really like the 300 Blackout is the ability to shoot cheaply with cast lead bullets. Is there a maker who offers a 30 cal can that can be taken apart for cleaning out the lead, or is that only a worry for 22 rimfire cans? I would hate to spend $800 on a silencer only to render it useless by filling it with lead and bullet lube after a few hundred rounds.

Does anyone make such a beast, or should I spend the extra cash for a 100% titanium unit that can be soaked in the peroxide and vinegar dip?

So...

...I'm not the only one.

300Blk also caused me to think about heavy cast lead subsonic hunting loads. AFAIK, the peroxide dip and/or a ultrasonic cleaner could remove all that you would need it to. You don't have to go 100% Ti because stainless steel can also be dipped or put through a cleaner.

How about a Liberty Mystic? Its servicable and rated for the 300 BLK in super and subsonic.

I would have gone with this can for my 300 BLK if i hadnt gotten such a great deal on an Ark30 from Templar Tactical Firearms.

Innovative Arms is almost done with their .30 cal take-apart can. I'd give them a call and see what the timeline is for delivery. I've seen the prototype - I'll be buying one whenever I find some extra cash growing on a tree.

I decided to go with the Thompson Machine Thirty. A dealer in-state had one in stock and it looks like a really well built and sturdy unit. Now the wait begins...

For future reference:

Huntertown Arms makes a 30 caliber take down suppressor that would work for this application.

I'm getting a Huntertown Guardian 9 that works with both 9mm and with .300 Blackout subsonic. It easily disassembles for cleaning. Already have Guardian .22 paid for and just waiting for the tax stamp.

Trying to decide whether to have my LLC buy the next suppressor(s) I buy or to go with a trust.
