.30 Carbine Ammo??

Hi, I live in central WA state on the Idaho border.

The only ammo I can find is a few boxes of Federal SP
in 20 count boxes for $19.99.


My local Dealers don't have any 50 count boxes and have been on back-order for months now.

Checking online. Cabela's and other places list ammo, but are out of stock.


I can't qualify for CMP ammo.

Where is the .30 Carbine ammo hiding?

The situation sounds familiar. I even had a hard time finding 22lr bulk packs. My advice is just wait longer. I really believe that the industry is doing this on purpose... they see a rise in demand, and if they simultaneously reduce supplies to distributors, they can effectively fuel paranoid speculation and skyrocket the prices.

Just try to remember the oil futures market of early 2008. None of the producers actually ran out of oil... they just wanted all of the fools to think they were running out. What was the result?... $150/barrel for crude, unrefined sludge.

The best way to deal with this is to stop buying gun stuff right now, or just shoot the 22's for a while... if you haven't already stockpiled a bit of ammo to survive the current situation, you're probably too late.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is willing to do that. Folks would rather pay $300 for a case of Rooski AK ammo (if they can even find it). Thats probably why I can't even find a lousy 22 bulk pack in town.

get a press and reload it, 30 carbine is one of the easiest rifle rounds to reload.

I've used Wolf in .30 carbine before and had no problems with it.

It ran better than the 40 year old Gi surplus that had numerous FTFi. BSW

Eric F has the right idea. .30 Carbine is a straight-walled case, pretty simple to reload. Limitation could be availability of small rifle primers that are normally used with the cartridge.
