Brass for the .300 H&H isn't all that hard to come by yet. When I bought mine a few years ago the brass was sold as seasonal. I just looked around till I found it. Believe I still have 700 cases unfired in bags. I'll never use it in my lifetime but at least I have it. It was pricey 5 years ago so I can imagine what it costs now.

I doubt you can make brass for this cartridge using anything conventional. I looked that up when I bought mine. There was 1 or 2 possible cartridges that you could use but I don't remember what they were now. I believe Remington sold .300 brass that could be formed into almost anything and the length was good.

Some years ago when I had a gun store a good customer who had taken trophy worthy examples of all that Africa had to offer asked "the question". "What is the best all around deer cartridge? Isn't it the .270?" as he handed me a pre 64 mod 70 to rescope. I retorted with "whats the best all around lion cartridge'? "Why that would be a 300 H&H of course."
"Really, if the lion was charging and at 25 yards?" He didn't think about it long and said "No, that would be a double in 500 Nitro."

I have a 300 H&H, pre 64 Model 70 Super Grade with a 26" barrel. I love the gun and it loves 200 gr Triple Shocks.
