Was wondering what a 300 weatherby mag in a weatherby mark v would be worth in fair condition without a scope? Fluted blued barrel and synthetic stock.

I did some looking around and couldn't find much. I did find what I think is a similar rifle in 7mm Rem mag in SS. Asking price is $999. I'd look at gunbroker and other gun sites to get a feel for what similar guns are actually selling for. Weatherby has made several different models, and knowing exactly which version you have would help too. I found new prices ranging between $2000-$3000 for some of them new. Somewhere around 50% to 75% of what the same rifle sells for new is where you want to be when selling used. Whether it is closer to 50% or 75% depends on many factors.

Realistically, without pictures to tell the condition for sure, you're probably looking at the $1000-1400 range. It isn't something with a lot of demand, especially with the current trend away from the big magnum cartridges in hunting rifles.

What I'd pay tops for a 378 or 460 Weatherby (the Deluxe model) if I wanted one would be $1,500 and it would have to be pretty nice. I'd pay less for a 300 Weatherby Magnum as you describe it.

I thought if someone had the bluebook value book it might be in there. I know theres a lot of different stuff out there now days and it's not that I needed it anyways. I figured $460 was a fair price. I was buying from a pawnshop not an individual.

You might post this over on the WeatherbyNation forum. I'm active over there and there's a lot of Weatherby-specific knowledge to be found.

I have several Weatherby rifles. Some are Vanguards and some are Mark Vs. There are lots of differences between models, years of manufacture, and country of origin. The 300 Wby Mag is one of the more popular Weatherby chamberings so therefore it is a bit more common than some of the others.

Without more details, pics, etc. I couldn't really offer much to accurately gauge a value. I'll say this for reference: I gave $700 about 5 years ago for a Mark V chambered in 7mm Wby Mag. It had a factory plastic stock, which I quickly changed out to wood. It was in very good condition with very light use. It included scope bases and rings but no mount. It also included a cheap nylon sling.

Hope that helps.
