hello all,

I've been reloading for a little bit now and in the next month or so might be needing new brass for my .308. I only partial case size (to the shoulder) since the rounds get fired from only the one bolt action.

Recommendations for brass in this case? Since my shooting it once will custom form it to my rifle anyhow, I'm more concerned about longevity than 'match' grade, right?

Look into geting the Lee "Collet" die. This will provide excellent brass life, accuracy, and saves a couple of steps in the loading process. With it you can have match grade accuracy and long brass life as well as less trimming and fiddling.

If you want long lasting AND match grade, Norma or Lapua brass would be the hot ticket. They are not cheap but they will last a long time if kept track of.

Also Hornady brass is nice.

I personally favor military cases like Lake City for general blasting ammo. Good quality and consistent.

Winchester and Remington rifle brass is good too.

I use Lapua brass. In one rifle, my .308, I neck size only. In others, I use a full-size die but use the Redding Competition Shell-holders to only resize "enough" to ensure reliable chambering.
