Does anyone have a picture or link to the .308 caliber Mark 11 Mod 0 H&K sniper rifle? Does anyone own one or know where I can get one? Thanks.

Yep, not HK, Knights. Mk11 Mod 0 is the Gov name for Knights SR-25.

Their civilian version retails for around $7500 but I don't know anyone that actually has any for sale. A few people claim to be taking orders but as far as deliver dates they all say something to the effect of "your order will be placed in the production line".

if you find one for sale, i can pretty much assure you it won't be $7500.

Hate to thread hijack, but isn't an SR-25 basically an AR-10 with a RAS and a heavy, free floating barrel?

It's an accurized AR-10, but I forget what all they did to it compared to an original, real deal AR-10, much less various differences between it and the current AR-10 and other 308 type ARs.

Thanks HorseSoldier. A question to help out the OP: wouldn't it be cheaper then to buy a baseline AR-10 that has a flattop rail and heavy barrel and make the neccesary modifications to MK.11 standards?

LWRC and DPMS both offer less expensive alternatives, with the same accuracy and dependability. The MK11 Mod 0 is so expensive because it comes with a kit; bipod, extra mags, supressor, scope, etc. (that's the DOD version, anyway. I've never seen a civilian version.) The M110 is even pricier. The H&K contender for the DOD SASS competition was a version of their PSG-1, called an MSG-90 I believe.

How much more will a person need to spend?

I saw one on gunbroker a few weeks ago starting at 22K (it didn't sell though).

Heck you can get a JP or La Rue 308 for about half what that cost.

i'm not knocking the JP or larue stuff or dpms or lwrc, but they're not MK11 mod0s.

you can get a modern knight's armament SR-25 for $5k or so. they are out there for sale right now, new.

the point is that MK11 mod 0 (which is a Navy designation, btw) is highly collectible because while there are lots of SR25s out there and you can put RAS rails on them, that doesn't make them mk11 mod0s, which i don't believe were ever offered for civilian sale.

No, but the only way you are going to get a MK11 Mod 0 is to join the Department of the Navy and become a SWCC, SEAL, Marine Force Recon, or MARSOC. And 5k for a rifle is still pretty expensive, at least for me. A LWRC, Larue, or whatever can offer you the same capability at a lower price. That's all I was thinking.

Okay Taliv, I stand (sit?) corrected. But what's the point? I mean, MK11's and M110's are cool, yeah, but I've never gotten into the whole "this is what the boys downrange use, so I have to have one" thing. No offense intended, just a fundamental difference of opinion and taste I guess.

you mean like collecting plates or stamps or beanie babies or those stupid singing raisins? hey, some people collect guns with historical value or military paraphernalia. no real mystery to it. (ok, umm... i'll admit the singing raisins and pet rocks baffle me, but i don't lose much sleep over how other people spend their $)
