Was going through some of my dad's reloading stuff and came upon a bag of cast lead round nose. It wasn't marked, but average weight is 89gr. Base measures .299-.300 and middle is .312 inches.
I have several hundred Starline 32 H&R new brass.

Sold my Ruger Single-Six 32 H&R to my nephew last year, but thought might reload this batch of LRN for him.

Can't find any data for this type/weight bullet. Any suggestions for a plinking load?

Ken Waters in his Pet Loads tome lists a 90 grain SWC with Unique starting at 4 grains and max of 4.5 at 1,148 FPS.

I’d have no problems with that as a starting point for those 89 grainer RN if it’s being shot out of the Ruger.

Thanks, sounds like a good place to start.

Well, ok then. :)
I thought the same thing when I read that!

The 4.0 gr Unique load should be a good one. Another I have seen is 3.5 gr AA#2 and a 90 gr SWC, so that could be a good one, too. :)

Stay safe.
